This is a view of the MAIN DECK.

The main deck is cut from 1/4" Luan plywood. The dimensions should
be taken from your radio box. The dimensions shown here were taken
from the "Betsy Ann" built for this article.

Notice the narrower section aft of the radio box area.
This is so to allow fastening the deck to the bottom of the longerons.

A shaping and sanding with 280 grit paper give it two or three coats
of varnish, sanding between coats. Be sure to paint top and bottom,
and also get plenty into the edges to seal against water.

When it is dry, paint the edge white.

Use your artist's eye's to draft in the outer curve, making it fair
and even. Transfer this to the other side to match. Once it is cut
sand smooth with a sanding block. The rear portion tapers nicely
while the fore end is more blunt. Sketch this lightly with a No. 2
pencil until you get it right, and then transfer it to the other side.
